How to Use A Flexible Hose

Flexible hoses are required for the installation of both water and gas supply lines. Flexible gas hoses are commonly made of corrugated, metal and contain a plastic coating. In order to run the inlet on the gas application, the hose connect to the gas shut-off valve at the end of the gas supply pipeline. 


Flexible water hoses are designed by plastic (at times with a braided metal covering) and then run from the shut-off valve to water fixture. The garden hose is also made of the plastic which is flexible and used for plants, shrubs and water flowers.

Steps 

  • First of all, you need to find the gas shut-off valve at the end of the gas supply pipeline. The value should be in a close distance to the gas appliance (wall heater, stove). Now, wrap the yellow sealing tape twice around the thread at the end of the shut-off valve.
  • Make sure to screw the nut at the one end of the flexible hose to the thread of valve. Place the crescent wrench across the nut to tighten the hose tightly. Now, you can wrap the sealing tape twice around the male inlet on the gas appliance.
  • Find the shut-off value at the end of the water supply pipe. The pipe commonly comes out of the floor or wall close to the water fixture (toilet, sink). Wrap the white sealing tape around the small nut on the shut-off valve.
  • Screw on the nut at the end of the hose to its outside faucet (ensure that the nut it only hand tight). And, screw the nozzle onto the hose’s other end.
